A Village Square composed of eight buildings is the centerpiece of Devaun Park, a 483-unit TND being constructed on 149 acres on the outskirts of Calabash, North Carolina. The Square, situated within a five-minute walk of most residents’ homes, will have neighborhood-oriented shops mainly on ground level and may have offices, apartments, and bed and breakfast accommodations on the second and third floors. Adjacent to the Square will be a 10,000-square-foot health club containing an indoor pool. Detached houses will face the Calabash River, to create a corridor of inviting front porches along the waterway. Vehicular access will be on service lanes behind the dwellings.
