As in years past, CNU 31.Charlotte will offer continuing education credits for architects (via the American Institute of Architects / AIA), planners (AICP, through the American Planner Association/ APA), CNU Accreditated (CNU-A) professionals, and landscape architects in self-reporting states (American Society of Landscape Architects / ASLA).

To claim AIA and LA CES credits, fill out of the form at the bottom of that session on the app and we’ll report them to the corresponding organization. For AICP and CNU-A credits, you report these directly to the accrediting organization.

AIA and APA determine the eligibility of our Congress program for credits and require that sessions be finalized before we can apply for credit for them. Submissions for CNU 31.Charlotte have been made to both. We will post information regarding which sessions are eligible for accreditation on this site as soon as that information is available.  A hard copy of the same information will be available for review at the CNU table and the Volunteer/Information table at CNU 31.Charlotte.

Many of the breakout and plenary sessions at past Congresses were approved for AIA and AICP accreditation. We will make every effort to secure accreditation as early as possible and provide information to participants about which session qualify. Thank you in advance for your patience.

AICP Certification Maintenance (CM)

CNU is an official certified AICP CM provider. The list of sessions and the number of credit associated with each session will be posted on APA's website soon as they are entered.

To claim your credits post-Congress, self-report your credits on the APA website just as you usually do.

AIA Continuing Education

CNU is registered with the American Institute of Architects' Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) to provide learning units at a ratio of one credit per hour of instruction. Most sessions receive AIA credits, many qualifying for Health, Safety & Welfare credits.

To claim credit, attendees are required to sign their name and enter their AIA number at each session they attended to prove their attendance. All the forms are sent to the AIA within 2 weeks after the Congress. Attendees should see the sessions they attended credited on their account within 2-3 weeks.

If you have questions about AIA CES credits, please consult AIA's FAQ.

CNU Accreditation

Nearly all Congress sessions will be eligible for CNU-A credit. Learn more about becoming a CNU Accredited professional here.

ASLA Continuing Education

Each of the 37 states requiring licensure for Landscape Architects administers Continuing Education Requirements differently. CNU will pursue LA CES ™ Pre-Approved Provider status in the future, but does not have it at this time.  Attendance at all AIA and AICP approved offerings will be confirmed.  Any CNU 31.Charlotte program that receives AIA and APA approval and associated professional development hours should be eligible to meet requirements in self-reporting states.
