Jeanne Riley, Program Manager of the Utah Division of Water Quality
Join CNU Utah, the Jordan River Commission, and the Utah Division of Water Quality at an UrbanThink on new statewide water quality regulations being developed for “low impact development”, followed by a mobile workshop that includes a paddling tour in canoes of the Jordan River.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of water quality impacts from urban development on the Jordan River, one of the most degraded water bodies in the State of Utah due to stormwater runoff. The presentation will include an introduction to the framework for new urban and suburban development regulations that will be implemented state wide in the spring of 2019. The mobile tour will allow participants to see and experience first-hand some of the urban impacts of urban development on the Jordan River, and efforts being coordinated among local, state, federal and private development partners to improve urban ecological systems and improve the health of the Jordan River and other water bodies in the State of Utah.
