Project Overview
The City of Terrell is soliciting a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from qualified firms and/or individuals to provide innovative planning and urban design services for various projects to support strategic development initiatives that modernize and strengthen our attractiveness as a destination and grow economic opportunity and community investment.
Selected firm and/or individual will have the opportunity to plan for multiple innovative open- space, as well as full design and build-out recommendations for numerous large-scale developments within the City of Terrell. While we strive to build new opportunities and market areas, Terrell is deeply invested in maintaining our heritage and growing community opportunities within our historic areas, it is our goal to continue to enhance the overall appearance and experiences for our community. Therefore, we are looking for a creative team that has new and fresh ideas to help grow Terrell America.
Remote access for meetings and document sharing is available for all firms or individuals interested in participating in the RFQ process and ultimately award of contract. Distance from the City of Terrell should not limit any firm’s ability to perform duties as assigned by future contracts.
As the largest retail and commercial hub of Kaufman County, the City of Terrell is proud of the national exposure, ranking our county as the fastest growing county in the nation, Kaufman County saw an 18% boost in population between 2019 and 2021, which is the most of seven Dallas / Ft. Worth counties. Located just 25-miles east of downtown Dallas at the intersection of Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 80, Terrell serves as a major crossroads for the region and future development. A once quaint town known for its agriculture of cotton, downtown saloons and railroad thoroughfare, now boasts the curb appeal as the gate of the eastern suburb to the Dallas and Fort Worth metroplex.
The City of Terrell is preparing for a flood of commercial and residential activity as developers leave the urban core in search of available land. With increased growth comes the need for advanced urban planning and Terrell is stepping up to the challenge by contracting desired firms from around the nation to assist in our development process.
