Project Manager/Project Architect
Description
Glavé & Holmes Architecture (G&H) is seeking to fill a full-time Project Manager/Project Architect (PM/PA) position in our Urban Architecture Studio with between 5 and 15 years of experience. We are interested in those individuals who can perform the role described below and with the credentials listed. The PM/PA is a hybrid role, where the employee can both manage overall project responsibilities and focus on creating project deliverables.
The PM role includes being the primary client contact for a single or multiple project(s), creating and managing internal project budgets and contracts, and managing the project team. The PA role includes the primary responsibility for creating the deliverables for a given project, including design, project documentation, delegation and coordinating consultant work. The ideal candidate will have interest and ability in both roles.
Desirable Credentials and Abilities
- Must have a degree from an accredited program in Architecture.
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience in architecture or urban design.
- A professional architect’s license in the U.S. or potential to gain licensure.
- Experience with project and team management.
- Experience with complex project programs and experience with public and private sector projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects well, including achieving targeted profit, maintaining client relationships, and demonstrating productive collaboration with team members.
- Demonstrated ability to create a set of construction documents, along with knowledge of materials, systems, details, and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of Revit, AutoCad and Adobe Creative Suite platforms.
- Expertise with PM software, specifically Ajera, Newforma and MS office suite.
- Passion for design excellence, a collaborative spirit, willingness to learn and enthusiasm for mentoring others. and a sense of humor.
- Demonstrated interest or expertise in contextual architecture and traditional urban design.
- Abilities with graphic design, hand drawing, sketching, and verbal and written communications.
- Ability to focus on multiple scales and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in expanding your leadership role on projects, in the studio and in the firm.
- Interest and aptitude for organizing client and public presentations.
- Interest in moving flexibly between the PM and PA roles, depending on project needs.
- Interest in business development and assisting with marketing and project pursuits.
