CNU 18 offered continuing education credits for the following professions, for many of the sessions included in the conference program:
* Planners (AICP only thru the American Planner Association (APA))
* Landscape Architects (thru the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA))
* Architects (thru the American Institute of Architects (AIA))
AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) credits
CNU is an official certified AICP CM provider. This year in Atlanta for CNU 18, the APA approved 168 credits (View the CNU 18 Continuing Education Credits List (PDF)).
To claim your credits, Self-report your credits on the APA website just as you usually do.
ASLA Continuing Education Credits
This year again, most landscape architects will be able to acquire CEC at the Congress. You will need to self-report your attendance to your state. Most states accept the self-reporting system however a few (such as Florida, New York, and Pennsylvania) might not. Most states will require a certificate of attendance listing the sessions attended and the number of credits attributed.
Self-report your credits as you usually do. To receive a certificate of completion, please fill out the Certificate of Completion Request by June 14, 2010. A certificate will be mailed to you the week of June 21, 2010.
AIA Continuing Education Units
CNU is registered with the American Institute of Architects' Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) to provide learning units at a ratio of one credit per hour of instruction. Most sessions receives AIA credits, some qualifying for Health, Safety & Welfare credits to architects. For CNU 18 in Atlanta, AIA approved 163.50 credits (View the CNU 18 Continuing Education Credits List (PDF).).
The AIA Continuing Education Systems Committee has implemented new procedures for registering and reporting credit for conference sessions. At each session where a credit is offered, the attendees seeking the credits are required to fill out the session's sign-up sheet providing their complete name and AIA number. Attendees are required to attend the session for which they are seeking the credit. CNU will then report the attendance lists to the AIA for credit allocation. CNU is required to report to the AIA within 2 weeks of the end of the conference.
To claim your credits, you are required to sign your name and enter your AIA number at each session you attended to prove your attendance. All the forms are sent to the AIA within 2 weeks of the congress. You should see the sessions you attended credited on your account within 2-3 weeks. Should you need a certificate of completion, you will be ask to fill out an Certificate of Completion Request form. A certificate will be mailed to you the week of June 21, 2010. We unfortunately cannot send you a certificate if you did not sign the relevant session attendance list.

AIA Certificate of Completion
Architects who are not AIA members can receive a certificate of completion for the sessions you attend which receive AIA credits to submit to their states of registration. In order to receive a certificate, you will need to fill out an online request form by June 14, 2010. The online request form will be available on this website after the Congress.
Georgia Municipal Association Continuing Education (CE) credits
The Georgia Municipal Association has qualified six hours worth of attendance at any single conference session for six hours of CE credits.

You’ll learn about conventional and traditional ideas of development and how places that provide access and opportunity can create true community. Athens, GA, the seat of the University of Georgia, or to nearby Gwinnett County, a national leader in creating New Urban communities.
The GMA will accept credits through the ”Critical Issues” provision of elective courses offered by the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute.
