Train and Bus Options
The Heartland Flyer connects Oklahoma City to Fort Worth, TX daily and can be combined with a trip on the Texas Eagle which travels between Chicago and San Antonio with stops in Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas. The Amtrak Thruway Connector connects Newton and Wichita, KS with OKC and is another option for those looking to combine train and bus travel. Also check out Jefferson Lines which offers bus service from many Midwest cities with stops in Tulsa and Bartlesville, OK.
Getting Around
Streetcars
Visitors to OKC have a convenient new way to move around downtown. The Oklahoma City Streetcar, with beautiful green, blue and pink cars, connect visitors to hotels, dining and attractions throughout Downtown, Bricktown, Automobile Alley and Midtown. Seven cars run on two loops, with varying schedules six days a week. With 22 platforms on the 4.7-mile loop, passengers only need to walk a couple blocks to find a platform.
Taxi Service
Taxis are available at downtown hotels and the Transportation Plaza at Will Rogers World Airport. The plaza can be accessed from baggage claim on the lower level of the terminal. Average fare from Will Rogers World Airport to downtown Oklahoma City is $25.
Travel by Transit
EMBARK buses serve much of the Oklahoma City metro area. Each route’s hours of operation vary, but many popular routes run about every 30 minutes during the weekday and every 60 minutes on Saturday.
